Britney Spears’ fiancé Sam Asghari has cast a shadow over Justin Timberlake

Britney Spears’ fiancé, Sam Asghari, seems to have cast a shadow over ex Justin Timberlake, and it’s all thanks to some very recognizable song lyrics.

The singer dated Justin between 1999 and 2002, when she and Sam were first linked in 2016. However, it seems there is still some shade to be cast between the two.

Sam’s apparent reference to Justin came via a recent Instagram Story, where he shared a screenshot of a Variety article titled “Britney Spears’ Fiance” Sam Asghari thanks the pop singer for helping put his acting career “on the map”, in which Sam thanked Britney for her success.

The actor and model then added the text: “Bringing back sexy is cool and everything but bringing real back to Hollywood is even sexier,” with a laugh and wink emoji – and fans believe the benchmark “sexy back” is a nod to Justin’s 2006 single, er ‘Sexyback’.

Sam’s post, of course, didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on the whole thing via Twitter.

One shared a screenshot from Sam’s Story writing: “Sam shading Justin Timberlake LOL”, while another did the same, adding: “Did Sam just shade JT?”

Meanwhile, one fan simply wrote, “Did Sam Asghari just drag Justin Timberlake?” So it seems they are pretty determined on the potential meaning of Sam’s message.

Neither Sam nor Justin commented further on the post. Either way, we can all agree that “Sexyback” is still a certified banger, right?

We’ve reached out to Sam and Justin’s reps for comment.
