GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Broadway Grand Rapids (BGR) has announced a new president and chief executive officer following the retirement of Mike Lloyd.
Meghan Distel was promoted to fill the role after serving as the company’s marketing and public relations director, the performing arts theater tells us.
We are told Distel’s appointment as the company’s new CEO is the result of a unanimous decision by the board of directors after a nationwide search that spanned months.
“Of all the strong candidates who applied, Meghan stood out for her experience and her passion for Broadway Grand Rapids,” said BGR Vice President David Skidmore.
According to BGR, Distel has helped quadruple ticket sales over the past ten years.
“It is an honor and a privilege to step into this new role within an organization that I am so passionate about,” said Distel. “I look forward to not only continuing the mission of bringing incredible theater to Grand Rapids, but also connecting with the people of West Michigan and expanding opportunities for all members of the community to enjoy the best of the Broadway tour.”
hamilton is the next show in BGR’s lineup of the season. Visit BGR website for more information.
