Microsoft teases new Windows 11 feature, calls it “game changer”

Windows 11 – the next update for Windows PCs and laptops – is expected to arrive in the second half of the year and is currently in beta testing with Windows Insiders. It might be a while before everyone can experience the new Windows operating system, but it looks like until then the company is planning to talk about one feature at a time.
Windows and Devices chief Panos Panay revealed a new Concentration sessions feature that will be part of the Windows 11 update on Twitter. Calling it a “game changer,” this feature was teased through a little clip.

In this clip, we can see that Windows 11 focus sessions will allow users to select a task from a task list for a particular focus session. After that, it will allow them to choose a song through a built-in music streaming app to play while performing this task. Post this, it will allow users to select the time limit for this task with support for optional breaks in between.
The Focus Session feature has been introduced for now and will soon be available to Windows insiders, said Brandon LeBlanc, senior program manager on the Windows Insider Program Team on Twitter.

Apple Focus Mode
Earlier this year, Apple announced the rollout of Focus Mode with iOS 15 – which is expected to arrive in September – and once it’s activated on an Apple device, it automatically applies to users’ other Apple devices.
With Apple’s Focus Mode, users will be able to set filters for notifications, calls, and even messages. Users can receive alerts exactly how and when they need them at particular times. There is also an auto reply feature which can automatically send messages when you don’t want to use the iPhone. Once Focus mode is activated, there is also an option to personalize the home screen.
