ReconAfrica and Trinity Energy confirmed as Gold Sponsors at African Energy Week in Cape Town

Following an elite group of high profile sponsors at the continent’s premier energy event, Canada-based ReconAfrica and Trinity Energy have been confirmed as Gold Sponsors at African Energy Week (AEW) 2021 in Cape Town. The event highlighting the role that independents and energy explorers will play in enhancing Africa’s entire energy value chain and positioning the continent as a competitor of Hydrocarbons, Trinity and ReconAfrica will play a key role in facilitating this dialogue.

As a Canadian oil and gas company primarily focused on exploring the Kavango Sedimentary Basin in Namibia and Botswana, ReconAfrica has set a benchmark for other international independents seeking to strengthen their presence in emerging African perspectives. The company has made significant progress in a short period of time, with initial drilling campaigns revealing functioning hydrocarbon systems that have the potential to reshape Namibia’s energy sector. Working closely with the Government of Namibia, ReconAfrica is currently acquiring high-resolution aeromagnetic surveys of its license areas, leading the country’s exploration initiatives and demonstrating the role that upstream activities play in expanding markets.

“ReconAfrica represents one of the leading independent energy explorers in Africa in 2021. Although it is a relatively small explorer, the company has demonstrated its ability to compete with the majors. A leader in Namibia’s upstream exploration, ReconAfrica has been instrumental in the country’s hydrocarbon sector and as a sponsor of gold at AEW 2021, the company will not only participate in upstream forums, but will focus on the role that independent oil and gas companies will continue to play in expanding Africa’s energy sector, ”said NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber (AEC).

Meanwhile, Trinity Energy, as South Sudan’s largest independent company, has also been confirmed as a gold sponsor at AEW 2021 in Cape Town. Representing the country’s largest private energy company and one of the largest players in the country’s downstream sector, Trinity focuses on driving the discussion on Africa’s downstream development. Trinity serves as an example for other African indigenous companies looking to expand their operations and stimulate the growth of Africa’s energy sector. The company is committed to ensuring that everyone on the continent has access to energy and is ready to advocate for the role of downstream investments in Cape Town. As Gold Sponsor, Trinity reiterated the role that AEW 2021 will help boost African investments and boost the continent’s growth at all levels of the energy value chain.

“Trinity Energy is a major player in South Sudan’s energy landscape and comes to Cape Town to promote downstream investments and developments, recognizing it as a catalyst for increased access to energy in Africa. As a Gold Sponsor, Trinity is committed to engaging with stakeholders, developing the ongoing downstream dialogue and positioning South Sudan as a key player in Africa’s energy sector ”, Ayuk continued.

AEW 2021, in partnership with the South African Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy DMRE, is the AECannual conference, exhibition and networking event. AEW 2021 brings together African energy players with international investors and partners to drive industry growth and development and promote Africa as a destination for energy investments.
