Rest In Peace, Paul J Sollami, Esq, Former Frankish Landowner of Mercer County

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my father, former Mercer County Independent Owner Paul Sollami, Jr., who for 21 years (1970-1992) was the best illustrator what it means to be a public servant.

My father was a long-time lawyer in the Trenton area, an administrative judge, and was elected seven times on the Mercer County Freeholder Board, of which he was chairman for many years. During his tenure he was instrumental in improving and expanding our Mercer County Park System, County Community College and Airport Terminal, among his many contributions. He then served as an attorney for the Township of Ewing Zoning Council for many years.

He began his public service early, being elected elementary school class president annually until his high school graduation year in 1949 at Trenton Central High School. He was also a class president at Villanova University where he obtained his BA and also graduated from Georgetown University Law School with a JD.

In high school, he was a renowned athlete, statewide soccer player, and countywide baseball player. He also played on the Army baseball team before being honorably released. He coached for many years for the North Trenton Little League.

He really enjoyed helping people and the public service, but spending time with us, his extended family and friends, brought him the most joy.

My mother, Roseann Bruno Sollami had been his beloved wife for 58 years. She, my sister, Maryann (Sollami) Montenegro and I, along with our husbands and children, will be sadly missed.
