Toto is the new opening act for classic rockers Journey on a tour visiting PPG Paints Arena on February 22.
Toto, famous for hits like “Africa” and “Hold The Line,” will replace originally scheduled opener Billy Idol on all Journey dates, according to a Wednesday press release.
Idol announced that he had to pull out of the tour due to a chronic sinus infection requiring surgery in the coming days.
“I am absolutely disgusted that I cannot perform the upcoming dates with Journey as planned,” said Idol.
The local concert calendar is constantly updated.
Monday’s announcements included jam band Gov’t Mule at the Roxian Theater in McKees Rocks on April 11 and Erie at the Warner Theater on April 15, and country-rock band Whiskey Myers at the UPMC Events Center in Moon on May 1. .
On Tuesday, it was revealed that acclaimed UK rockers Wolf Alice will perform at Stage AE on April 1.
