Yngwie Malmsteen Books Spring 2022 US Tour

Neo-classical shred guitar legend Yngwie Malmsteen will return to touring in the spring of this year with 19 new dates scheduled across the United States.

Malmsteen, who released his 21st feature film, Parabellum, in 2021, had to postpone a handful of December tour dates after being ordered by the doctor to “take a few days off” for an unspecified condition. The statement regarding the postponements also clarified that the reason was unrelated to Covid.

The race will begin May 3 in Patchogue, New York and span both coasts before finishing in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on June 4. See the full list of stops below and for tickets and more information visit the guitarist’s website.

Speaking with Full Metal Jackie in the summer of last year, Malmsteen compared his approach to soloing live and in the studio. “What I do when I get on stage or in the studio and do solos is I improvise. It’s a challenge there because the tape is rolling and you have to find something right there and then that gonna be forever,” he said, then offered, “On stage you have to do it too, but it’s a little less because it draws all the inspiration from people. It’s live and it’s is a one-time thing, but on the record it’s forever.”
